After completing a flag hoisting (Nishan Sahib) ceremony which was held at 11 AM on Sunday 15th August 2010 with prayers, Sikh community Centre Crawley Management Committee and its community members & invited guests held a 'Ground Breaking' ceremony at 11.30 AM on Sunday 20th Feb. 2011 at their Overdene Drive site marking the start of the construction of their gurdwara. Mr  Gurmukh Singh Hanspal, founder member of SCCC, welcomed all those present & briefly outlined historical background of SCCC & shared some constructional details of the gurdwara project. After this Sikh priest Sardar Amarjit Singh Ji offered prayers to wahe guru ji asking for spiritual guidance to keep the management & community members steadfast, resolute, maintaining utmost passion to fulfil their long standing dream, in creating a showpiece Sikh temple in Crawley that all can be proud of. The Ground Breaking ceremony was then performed by senior & junior members of our community.
